Since November is known as the month for giving thanks, it seemed appropriate to spotlight a Twilight Mom who has been been giving of her time and talents to others. She was nominated by one of our Volturi Moms, Desperate to Let go, and in her own words, this is why she thought Jen would make a great Twilight Mom of the Month!!

"I've sent this nomination in before, but I would like to recommend jen983. She spends a lot of her time making banners and signatures for the less artistic and computer-challenged TMs. I think generosity and selflessness are the true measures of a TM, and Jen has out-shined most in these virtues. She has sacrificed her time and energy in order to make our TM experience that much better, and yet she asks for nothing in return. I would like to nominate her for TM of the month, because I think it's the least I can do to repay the kindness that she has shown to me. Jen is wonderfully talented artist. She has made numerous fan-made movie posters, and has even hand sculptured a doll in the likeness of Renesmee. I think that many TMs would benefit in learning more about her."


Where did you grow up?
I grew up in a small town called Falmouth, Maine. I lived there though out my whole childhood.

What were you like as a small child/elementary school? (Personality, hobbies, likes/dislikes, friends, groups, activities, etc.)
I had a happy childhood. I am an only child. I was a little shy as a child, but once someone got to know me, they find out I was a goof and loved being silly. I loved art. I took ballet and was also a girl scout.


What were you like in jr.high/high school?
I was a geek and not into following the crowd. LOL I had a small group of missed matched friends. I was lucky with my friends. They were very loyal. I still keep in touch with some of them to this day. I was still into art and would draw for hours in my room. I sang in chorus and small group. I loved that.

Did you ever date anyone that reminded you of Edward?
Not really, no.

Did you ever date anyone that reminded you of Jacob?
My hubby is a bit like Jacob. He makes me laugh and tells me what he thinks even when I don’t want to hear it.


Any college attended and if so, what were those days like for you?
I went to college for a couple years. I enjoyed it. Unlike high school, people expected you to be different, yourself. I liked hanging out with lots of different kinds of people. I decided not to stay in school. I was going for an art major. I didn’t want to teach, so I decided to stick out on my own.


Describe your life now using 3 adjectives.
Enjoyable, busy, entertaining

What are your current hobbies, interests, etc?
Twilight, Jane Austen, music, siggy making, shopping

What is your professional background?
I am professional artist. I sculpt dolls for a living. I have free lanced for doll companies such as Marie Osmond Dolls, Lee Middleton Dolls and Masterpiece Dolls. I am currently writing a column for a national magazine called Doll Crafters.

How has your life changed since you discovered ‘The Twilight Saga’?
I have made a bunch of new friends here on TwiMoms. It’s great have ladies to share my love of all things Twilight with and I have a new hobby… making siggies.

When was the last time you revamped a part of Twilight/New Moon/Eclipse/Breaking Dawn?
I’ve just started to revamp New Moon. I want to read it again before the movie.
(Yeah, I need to do the same!)

Name one thing you believe to be unique about you.
That I am lucky enough to be living my dream… I have wanted to be a professional artist since I was a teenager.

Do you have any holiday traditions that are special to you and your family? (For Easter, Christmas, Valentine's Day etc.)
We go to my parents’ house for Christmas dinner and my kids get to open one present one Christmas Eve (and then open the rest of the presents on Christmas).

What’s one thing you what to do in life that you haven’t yet? (i.e. your bucket list type thing)
I have always wanted to travel around Europe. I was supposed to go to Europe back when I was in HS, but the trip was canceled because of the conflict with Libya. Someday!

What is your greatest accomplishment?
My kids... they are sweet, well rounded girls with unique personalities and talents.


Do you have any hidden talents?
Not really, I cook mean hot wings.

Just wanted to say Congratulations to Jen on being chosen as the Twilight Mom of the Month for November! I really enjoy getting to know each of the TM's that I get to interview each month and yours was no exception. The dolls you make are so lifelike I totally thought they were baby pics of your daughters when I first looked at them. Once again, congratulations Jen!!
