Hello everyone! I am Heather, a quilt shop owner. Here in the land of fabric, we are doing a free online mystery quilt series for Twilight. I am so excited that some of my fellow Twilight Moms are involved.

In fact, we have over 100 women + 1 man from all over the world, (and I am pretty sure each continent is represented) that are going to participate.

The details are at the Zeppelin Threads website, but the bottom line is this:

*it is FREE
*it is a blast if you like to quilt (if you don't sew, then you might just hate this)
*we get to keep that Twilight high going for a few more months
*you will have a snuggly quilt to sit under when you watch New Moon in November

I would like this to be a thread for any TM to discuss the project, share photos of their progress and such.

Here you go: http://www.zeppelinthreads.com/twilightquilt.html

Smiles! :<3:
Heather

This looks like fun! I took a quilting class during one summer and loved it, so I think I'll give it a try!
Thanks for posting!

Will we be able to catch up if we can't get everything by tomorrow? I would love to try this, but I am afraid I won't be able to keep up due to work travel, etc.

I am printing out the instructions to attempt at a later date. With everything else I am committed to right now (Twilight craftiness in addition to like my regular life and everything) I just know I won't be able to do this on time.

Of course!!! The instructions will be up on the website forever, so even if you come back to it in 6 months, all the steps will be there. You dont' have to worry.

:)

Heather -- sorry I'm so late joining the thread! I've been in on Heather's plans almost since she came up with the idea to do a Twilight Quilt (but it will all be a surprise to me, just like all of you) and I encouraged her to start the thread. I've done my first homework assignment (Orientation) but haven't got my fabric put together yet. The beauty of this is you have a month (right?) between blocks to get things done. I hope to get fabric and start sewing first thing next week. I can't wait. I love the first block! I'll post photos when I finish!

Jerri Lynn, please, please, please, please, please post a picture of your quilt block. If you don't know how, then send me a PM and I'll be happy to help you out!

If you've never quilted before, don't be scared. The Orientation has enough materials to help you get started. The cool thing about quilting is that it looks fancy, but it is all sewing in a straight line. If you need help, just send me a PM -- I'm happy to clarify instructions and I know Heather is too!

Yeah! This is so cool. I was in a quilt shop this morning buying fabric for a baby quilt and saw a black, white and red quilt. It made me think of the Twilight series. Maybe I'll do this mystery quilt in those colors. What are others doing??? I wish I lived closer to you, so we could talk Twilight while quilting...two of my favorite things right now.

The Orientation has fabric suggestions. I'm going to stick close, but may go a little brighter on the reds. I'll post pics as soon as I get mine figured out. If I could only get off TMs and get my to-do's done I might get to it faster  .

:rolf: Exactly. If only I could quilt and read and post on TMs all day . . . what a life that would be.
